🪵Wood Working

Hand Tools

Hand tools can be used to shape timber and other softer materials, such as plastics.

Our Equipment

  • Saws

  • Pull saws

  • Chisels

  • Planes

  • Mallets

Band Saw

Image Sources: Left / Right

Material is fed into a continuous band saw blade to create straight or curved cuts.

Our Machines

  • Felder FB 840, 1x

  • Felder FB 510, 1x

Table Saw

Image Sources: Left / Right

Material is fed into a table-mounted circular saw blade to create straight cuts and grooves. The blade height and angle of the blade to the table can be adjusted.

Our Machines

  • SawStop ICS53415-50, 1x

Mitre Saw

Image Sources: Left / Right

A circular saw blade is controlled to make straight cuts in lengths of clamped material. The blade angle can be adjusted in 2 directions to create mitred and beveled cuts.

Our Machines

  • Festool KS 120 EB, 1x

Drill Press

Image Sources: Left / Right

A drill bit is loaded and fed at a controlled rotational speed into material mounted to the platform, allowing more precise holes to be made than are practicable using a handheld drill.

Our Machines

  • Parken B8-VAR-1F, 4x

  • Handheld Drills

Planer/Thicknesser

Image Sources: Left / Right

Blade height is set and planks of material are fed through the machine to smooth the surface, ensure uniform thickness or reduce the material thickness to a specified height.

Our Machines

  • Mini Max FS35 Smart, 1x

Router Table

A router bit is loaded and material is guided past the blade to shape its edge, or over the blade to create indentations or openings. Alternately, a portable handheld router can be guided over a fixed workpiece.

Our Machines

  • Carbatec 2400W Router Power Unit, 1x

  • Handheld Routers

Domino/Biscuit Joiners

Dominoes or biscuits can be used like dowels to join parts. These tools make the specially shaped holes required.

Our Equipment

  • Domino Tool, 1x

  • Biscuit Tool, 1x

Sanders

The bench sander can be used to quickly shape smaller parts. Whereas the palm sanders can be used to quickly smooth large areas of material.

Our Machines

  • Bench Sander, 1x

  • Palm Sanders

Other Power Tools
